Dr PONRAJ P is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SSN Chennai. He completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering with first class from Bharathidasan Institute of Technology (BIT) affiliated to Bharathidasan University in 2010 and his Master’s in Power System Engineering with distinction from Thiagarajar College of Engineering affiliated to Anna University in 2013. During his Masters, he received a merit scholarship from MHRD through GATE Score. He completed his PhD (full-time) in the field of Power Systems from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli in 2023.
Dr. PONRAJ brings a wealth of experience, with a combined 2.8 years of teaching and industry exposure. His journey includes roles at centrally funded institutions, such as the National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala, and the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Additionally, he contributed to the private sector at Ambica Electrical Engineering.
Dr. PONRAJ is a recognized reviewer for the prestigious International Journal, IET Electrical Systems in Transportation. His research focus, particularly in the domain of Power Systems, including:

- Virtual Power Plants
- Electric Vehicles
- Optimization Techniques / Machine learning applications for the power systems
