Dr. Sunita Nair is the Advisor, Student Affairs for the SSN Trust (SSN College of Engineering and SNUC). She plays a key role in the holistic development of students, and takes ownership and mentoring for building sustainable students’ activities with the help of faculty and students.
Dr. Nair has been with SSN College of Engineering (SSNCE) right from its inception in 1996 as a faculty in the Department of Chemistry. She had taken on additional Student Affairs Advisor responsibilities for over 20 years along with her regular teaching responsibilities.
Dr. Nair was awarded her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University Teaching Department (Chemistry), Ravishankar University, Raipur (Madhya Pradesh – now Chattisgarh). She was awarded National Scholarship for doing M.Sc. She secured Gold Medal (First Rank) for securing first rank in University Examination. Her Ph.D. was in the area of Environmental Chemistry.
Before joining SSNCE, she held Post-Doctoral positions (under CSIR, New Delhi) at Goa University, and also involved in teaching Chemistry for M.Sc. at Goa University. She was a Visiting Faculty at Environmental Pollution Control and Safety Training Institute at Panaji (Goa).
Dr. Nair has 33 years of Teaching and Research experience. She received the Best Teacher Award from the College nine times.
