Dr. Nafis Ahmed is currently working as a Research Scientist in SSN Research Centre at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering (Autonomous) in Chennai. He received his M.Sc. (Physics) degree with a specialization in Solid State Physics from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, and anM. Tech in Nanotechnology from VIT University, Vellore. He obtained his Doctorate degree from Anna University in 2021. His research is primarily focused on fabricating amorphous and nanocrystalline silicon thin films and metal assisted VLS growth of silicon nanowires films using the PECVD technique for energy conversion and storage applications. His areas of specialization include semiconductor devices, synthesis of metal nanoparticles, and deposition and growth of thin films. His research interests include the application of nanomaterials for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, thin-film solar cells, and lithium-ion batteries. He has published 40 research papers in refereed international journals.
