Dr. Rajasi Mandal – Assistant Professor

Rajasi Mandal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SSN College of Engineeing, Kalavakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (2024-present). She has 2+ years of working experience in teaching and industry.
She was born in 1991 at Kolkata, India. She finished her schooling (10th and 12th) from Patha Bhavan, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She completed B.Tech. degree from Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology under West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in 2013. She received M.Tech. degree from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal, India in 2016. She completed her Ph.D. as a full-time research scholar from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India in 2022.
Her Ph.D. thesis was on “Frequency Control of Hybrid Power Systems with Renewable Energy Sources”. Her research interests include Renewable Energy, Solar and Wind Energies, Hybrid Power Systems, Microgrids, Virtual Inertia Emulation for Low-Inertia Systems, Frequency Control of Single and Multiarea Power Systems, etc. She also has hands-on experience of working in Opal-RT (real time simulator). She has published and reviewed numerous research articles in reputed SCIE international journals (in Q1 and Q2).
She has post-PhD. experiences of teaching at Calcutta University, Kolkata, West Bengal, India (2022-2023) and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab, India (2023-2024) prior to joining SSN College of Engineeing, Kalavakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (2024-present). Her teaching interests include Non-conventional Energy, Solar Photovoltaics and Solar Thermal Systems, Electromagnetic Theory, Digital Electronics, Control Systems, Circuit Theory and Networks, Electrical and Electronics Measurements and Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control in Energy Systems, Signal and Systems, etc. She has qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) many times in Electrical Engineering. She has organized several Short Term Courses (STC) and Faculty Development Programs (FDP).
