A Recognised Research Center for Ph.D. under Anna University
The Department of Information Technology at SSN has been a recognised nodal research center of Anna University since 2011 for pursuing a Ph.D. degree. So far, 73 scholars have registered for their Ph.D., and 37 have successfully been awarded their doctorate. These research scholars are guided by 17 accomplished faculty members who have obtained their Ph.D.s from renowned institutions such as IIT, IISc and Anna University.

- Total Project Grants received from External Agency is 197.68 lakhs
- Total Project Grants received from SSN Trust by Faculty is 41.1 lakhs.
- Total Project Grants received from SSN Trust by Student is 22.37 in lakhs
There is a fine research ambience in our department, with 3 labs out of the total 10, dedicated for research, which house the latest high-end machines, software tools and special hardware. The impetus given to research by the college and the department has seen a dramatic increase in publications over the past decade, with a total of around 900 publications in refereed journals and international conferences, so far. The fortnightly research seminars led by faculty members in their specialized fields enhance the series of research seminars, workshops, and symposiums hosted by our department in recent years.
