Excellence in Education and Innovation-IT-SSN

The Department of Information Technology was established in 1999 with a mission to provide quality education and impart Information Technology excellence to students. Beyond shaping skilled technocrats, we focus on individual growth, nurturing responsible citizens dedicated to serving both industry and society.

Building on SSN’s tradition of teaching excellence, the department fosters a collaborative learning environment with 26 faculty members and 480–600 students across UG, PG, and Ph.D./M.S. research programs, including JRF and project staff. 

With an autonomous curriculum, the department balances theoretical and practical aspects of Information Technology.

State-of-the-art labs, a well-equipped seminar hall, a conference room, e-learning-enabled classrooms and a dedicated department library support a comprehensive learning experience.

The Department of Information Technology at SSN offers comprehensive programs designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills and knowledge.

The teaching learning process provides a way to improve the student’s performance. Apart from the traditional approaches of black board teaching, power point presentations there are other innovative approaches that are practiced in the teaching learning process that includes:

Innovative Approaches Practised

The EEE department has established strong industry linkages by signing MoUs with global leaders such as Danfoss, Siechem Technologies Pvt Ltd, Lucas TVS, Ashok Leyland, and others to foster industry-relevant R&D and internships for students. Faculty and students actively engage in innovative, sponsored research projects funded by esteemed organisations like AICTE, DST-SERB, and MNRE, complemented by faculty expertise that has led to a commendable number of patents.
