Dr. W.Jino Hans is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the SSN College of Engineering, where he has been serving since 2006. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu, India, in 2004, and his M.Tech degree from SRM University, India, in 2006. He earned his Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, in 2018 with his specialization in Computer Vision.  

With over 19 years of teaching experience, he has been actively involved in academic and research activities in the domains of image processing, computer vision, and related fields. He is also a recognized Ph.D. supervisor under Anna University, and one research scholar has successfully completed a Ph.D. under his guidance.

His research focus includes Inverse problems in Image processing, Single image Super-resolution Algorithms, computer vision for Intelligent Transportation Systems. His recent research focus is on the development of assistive devices which includes development of models for robust hand prosthetics for amputee rehabilitation, elderly assist etc. Moreover, he has published research articles in refereed journals and have presented his research work in various conferences in India and abroad. He is a member in professional bodies like IEEE, ISTE and IETE.

Three student teams under his mentorship have participated in the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon and the team ‘infinity clones’ won the badge for engine oil prognostics by Tata motors. He also mentored several student projects under the DST-Texas instruments ‘India Innovation challenge – Design Contest’ and Adobe analytics challenge. Moreover, he has guided over 10 student internal funded projects.

He is very active in social activities and is one of the NSS program officer. He has conducted a lot of awareness campaigns in rural areas. He also volunteered the Vidiyal programme in Krishnagiri and Thiruvanamalai districts.
