Dr. B. Senthil Rathi,  Assistant Professor (Grade II) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, has over 11 years of experience in teaching and research. A recipient of the GATE scholarship, she completed her M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Anna University with a University Gold Medal and her B.Tech. from the same institution, securing the 13th Rank in her class. Her expertise spans water/wastewater treatment, Electrodeionization, nanobiotechnology, and alternative fuels. She holds two Indian patents, has authored 40+ international journal publications, and contributed to four book chapters and book titled “Electrodeionization Fundamentals, Methods and Application”, amassing 2300+ citations and an h-index of 13. She has been recognized among the Top 2% Scientists globally by Stanford University in 2024. She has received prestigious accolades, including the Award of Excellence in Research 2023 and the “Best Budding Bright Engineer” award in 2008.

The work deals production of green hydrogen from the seawater by using solar power electrolysis and storage of hydrogen in metal hydrides.

The work deals production of biohydrogen from the waste biomass by using dark fermentation and photo fermentation.

Removal of toxic metals and organic contaminants from aqueous solution using Electrodeionization technique

Removal of heavy metals and organic contaminants from aqueous solution using Electrodeionization technique.

Removal of Phosphate and nitrate from aqueous solution using bio adsorbent

The work deals removal of phosphate and nitrate from aqueous solution using bio adsorbent. Carbon spheres was prepared from sugarcane bagasse by utilizing hydrothermal carbonizing technique.
