Dr. Vijay Jeyakumar is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and has 12 years of experience in the field of teaching and research. He completed his Bachelor degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University in 2005 and obtained his master degree in Medical Electronics from College of Engineering, Guindy Campus in 2008. He has done his research in Medical Image Retrieval system for the PACS environment and obtained his Ph.D degree in medical informatics under the faculty of Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University in 2015.
He has received funds from CSIR, NAAC, TANSCST and ISTE to organize workshops, seminars and STTP. He has received funding from TNSCST for developing the students project in the consecutive years 2017, 2018 and 2019. His Biography has been shortlisted in Marquis Who’s who in the world (2016) and International Biographical Centre, Cambridge England (2017) for his significant contribution Academics and research. Also, he is a recipient of Sri P K Das Memorial Best faculty award in 2018. His innovations were published and appreciated by the Medias. To his credit, he has filed one patent on “Implantable Baton Antenna using CPW feed” in 2019 which is under examination.
He is an active member in various professional bodies such as IEEE (Senior Member), ISTE, IE and IAENG. He has been invited as Conference chair and resource person for delivering technical talks in various International Conference, FDPs, seminars and workshops.
He is Anna University recognized supervisor (No.2940025) and currently guiding 02 PhD scholars under his supervision. He is also a doctoral committee member for the research scholars of Anna University and SRMIST. His areas of interest include Medical Image and Signal Processing, Machine learning, Deep learning, Medical system design and Antennas for Biomedical Implants. Currently, he is working (P.I.) on a project titled “Design and Development of textrode for continuous monitoring of physiological parameters” funded by SSN trust.
