Empowering Excellence: PEOs, POs and PSOs at SSN

At SSN, our curriculum is designed to meet the highest academic and industry standards. It is guided by well-defined Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs) and Program-Specific Outcomes (PSOs). These elements ensure our students develop strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities and industry-ready skills. Our graduates emerge as competent professionals ready to innovate, lead and contribute effectively to society and the global workforce. Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The Civil Engineering Department aims to equip graduates with technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and ethical values to excel in industry, research, and entrepreneurship.

PEO No.Programme Educational Objective
PEO 1Graduates will have a successful career in Civil or allied engineering industries or be entrepreneurs.
PEO 2Graduates will have the ability to pursue higher studies in institutions of international repute and work in research organizations or academia.
PEO 3Graduates will have the attitude to engage in lifelong professional learning and remain up-to-date in their field of work.

Graduates will develop proficiency in design, analysis, sustainability, and project management while adhering to professional ethics and lifelong learning.

PO No.Program Outcome
PO 1Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO 2Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO 3Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO 4Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
PO 5Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to solve complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO 6The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.
PO 7Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of, and need for, sustainable development.
PO 8Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities, and norms of engineering practice.
PO 9Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and multidisciplinary settings.
PO 10Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, including comprehension and writing of effective reports, design documentation, and presentations.
PO 11Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of engineering and management principles and apply them to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.
PO 12Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Students will gain specialized knowledge in structural analysis, construction management, and modern civil engineering technologies for real-world applications.

PSO No.Programme Specific Outcome
PSO 1Graduates will excel in the core areas of civil engineering such as structural, geotechnical, water resources, and environmental engineering.
PSO 2Graduates will be able to develop and design sustainable civil infrastructures considering present challenges.
