SSN INTERNALLY FUNDED STUDENT PROJECTS (IFSP-2022)
The sanction letters of the internally funded student projects (IFSP-2022) for (i) 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students and (ii) 1st year UG/PG students have been distributed by the President, SSNI on 25 May 2022 at Justice Pratap Singh Auditorium. This year 175 projects have been sanctioned with the budget of Rs.37.35 lakh for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students and 44 projects have been sanctioned with the budget of Rs.8.58 lakh for 1st year UG/PG students.
Prof. P. Ramasamy, Dean(Research) welcomed the gathering. He gave detailed information about the internally funded student projects. Dr. Kala Vijayakumar, President handed over the sanction letters to the HODs. President addressed the project students who won the projects. Prof. V. E. Annamalai, Principal congratulate the students and explain the importance of the projects to motivate them to take this projects very seriously. Faculty members and students have provided their feedback. The HODs of various departments, more than 100 faculty project guides and around 500 project students were present in the meeting.
Stimuli for Technological Innovation & Research for Students (STIRS)
SSN is always committed to quality research. In line with the institute’s vision in research and development, the UG and PG students are actively engaged in the research with various schemes. The schemes are (i) Internally Funded Projects for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students, (ii) Internally Funded Projects for 1st year UG/PG students and (iii) Student Consortium Projects.
The students will present the projects in a PPT format. The faculty guide(s), HOD and senior faculty members of the department will be present in the scrutiny. Students who have arrears will not be considered for scheme. Every year SSN funds around 200 innovative student projects with an average grant of Rs.25,000 per project. All the projects submitted by the students are scrutinised by the HOD, Senior Faculty member of the Department and Senior Scientist from CSIR/DRDO/DAE labs. A total amount of over Rs. 2.41 Crore has been granted to students till date. The progress made by the students will be reviewed in terms of Journal Publications, Conference Publications, Patent Filing, Awards, etc. Completion certificates will be provided to the students after they successfully completed the Internally Funded Student Projects. So far 282 completion certificates have been distributed by our President to the students for the year 2016-17 and 2017-2018.
