Dr. D.Umarani is an Assistant professor in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of SSN College of Engineering since June 2014.
Educational Qualification
She obtained a B.E degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi with First class Distinction and University 5th rank in the year 2011, M.E in Power Electronics and Drives from SSN College of Engineering, Chennai with First class Distinction and University 2nd rank in the year 2014.
She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Anna University, Chennai.
She has obtained Diploma in Computer Programming (DCP) and Certificate Programme in JAVA and J2EE (CPJ) with A+ grade from Tiruchirapalli Regional Engineering College – Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (TREC-STEP), a unit of NIT- Trichy certified by Central Government of India in the years 2012 and 2013 respectively. She has also obtained B.Litt. (Hindi) in the year 2006.
Work Experience
She has served as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions in the year 2011-2012. During her tenure in CTS, she was a part of Outreach Junior Achievement.
Publications
She has published 10 research papers in refereed international journals and proceedings of various international conferences. Her areas of research include solar-powered Z and Quasi Z multilevel inverters and grid connected renewable energy systems.
Memberships
She is an active member of IEEE.
She is an active member of the Good Citizenship Forum of SSNCE.
