Dr. S.Tamil Selvi is with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, TamilNadu, India, serving as an Associate Professor since 2016. She received the B.E. Degree with First Class in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and the M.E. degree with First Class Distinction in Power System Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. She has successfully completed her Ph.D (Full Time) in distribution transformer design using evolutionary algorithms under Anna University in 2015. She has a GATE score of 85.53 Percentile. She has over 17 years of work experience including 10 years of teaching experience, 2 years of industry experience and 4 years of full time research experience. She has worked in various places including Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, K.L.N College of Engineering, St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Tagore Engineering College, Adhiparasakthi Engineering College and OnSpec Legend Information Systems.

She has published her research works in 15 Science Citation Indexed list of international Journals, and 3 international conferences. She has published two books and three chapters. She has also published her software code for NSGA-II, a multi objective evolutionary algorithm in ‘MATLAB Central’ to serve the research community. Her field of interest is evolutionary algorithms applications to power system operation, transformer design, and optimization problems.

A MATLAB code is developed for Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm – II which can solve any complex real world multi-objective constrained optimization problem. It is  published on-line at MATLAB CENTRAL to facilitate the researchers, (available in the link given below).

Delivered speech on ‘Transformer design issues and analysis’ from my research work titled, ‘Distribution transformer design optimization using evolutionary algorithms’, to transformer manufacturers and industrial customers, in the workshop “Distribution Transformers performance evaluation through testing and analysis, held at Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bangalore on September 5th, 2014.
