Dr. R. Hemalatha – Associate Professor

r.R.Hemalatha, Associate Professor in the department of ECE, has more than 14 years of teaching experience. She received her B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Periyar University and M.E. degree in Communication Systems from Anna University (with College Gold medal). She obtained her Ph.D. degree from Anna University for her research work on Image transmission in WMSN. Before joining SSN, she worked at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai and AKCE, Srivilliputhur.
She has received funded projects from DST SSTP and SSN trust. She has guided over 24 UG and PG projects and 10 Student Internal Funded Projects sanctioned by SSN Trust. Her research interests include Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks, Image Processing, and IoT. To her credit, she has one granted Indian patent, 12 research articles in referred journals, 25+ conference papers, a book and a few book chapters. She is a member of IEEE, and Life member of ISTE.

- She is an Anna University recognized PhD supervisor and is currently guiding 2 doctorate scholars
- Mentor of winning team in ‘Smart India Hackathon 2019’ under ‘Samsung R & D, Blr’ at Hubli.
- Mentored a student project under Grand Challenge Competition titled “SAMVEDAN2021 -“Sensing” Solutions for Bharat” and the team shortlisted to the semi-finals.
- Mentored “Team Resolution” who emerged as a Runner Up in the preliminary round of YESIST’12 2023 “SSN IEEE YESIST12 innovation contest” and has qualified for the final round, which will be held in Egypt in hybrid mode.
