Martha Karunakar, Associate Professor in the department of English, has 20 years of teaching and research experience in the field of ELT and English studies, particularly, in the area of Children’s Literature.

Education: Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT- M).

M.A. – Gold Medallist and First Rank holder (Mangalore University).

B.A. – Gold Medallist and First Rank holder (Mangalore University).

Professional Experience

Lecturer at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore (1 year).

Assistant Professor at Women’s Christian College, Chennai (12 years). She also served as the Head of the Department of Languages, and Controller of Examinations at Women’s Christian College, Chennai.  She was a member of the Board of Studies and the Board of Examiners at Madras Christian College. She has reviewed research articles for International Journals (WoS).
