Dr. A. Chandrasekaran – Assistant Professor
physics
Dr. A. Chandrasekaran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at SSN College of Engineering (Autonomous), Chennai. He has been teaching at the college level for more than 13 years. His Ph.D. was in the field of molecular spectroscopy. Research work was undertaken at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Government of India, Kalpakkam, Tamilnadu. His expertise includes FT-IR, XRD, INAA, ED-XRF, gamma ray spectroscopy, radioactivity measurements, and mineral studies in environmental matrix. More than 60 papers have been published in national and international conferences, and more than 100 papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals. In various institutions, he delivered an invited talk. Furthermore, he was presented with a paper titled “Radioactivity and cancer risk assessment”, IRPA, Kualampur, Malaysia, 2014. In addition, he is working as a Co-Investigator on a BRNS project worth 21.92 lakhs. In 2018, he was also awarded a Young Scientist award by Venus International Research Foundation, India. Additionally, he is the author of a book in Engineering Physics in Sci-Tech publications and Veda Publications and a lifetime member of the Society for Radiation Research of India.
