Dr. V. Vaithianathan, Associate Professor in the department of ECE, has 27 years of teaching experience. He received his B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathidasan University and M.E. degree in VLSI System Design from Regional Engineering College (Presently National Institute of Technology), Warangal. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Anna University for his research work on VLSI Design (Low Noise Amplifiers for Ultra Wide Band Transceivers). Before joining SSN, he worked at MNM Jain Engineering College – Chennai, Aurora’s Engineering College – Bhongir (AP), Sona College of Technology – Salem, Vellore Institute of Technology – Vellore and VRS College of Engineering and Technology – Villupuram.

He has completed a funded project from SSN trust. He has guided over 45 UG and PG projects and 5 Student Internal Funded Projects sanctioned by SSN Trust. His research interests include VLSI Design, RF Microelectronics, Healthcare and Antenna Design for Biomedical Applications. To his credit, he has 25 research articles in referred journals, 51 conference papers, and 3 books. He conducted around 17 FDPs/STTPs/Conferences/Work Shops. He delivered 14 invited talks in the field of VLSI Design and Healthcare. He is a senior member of IEEE, and Life member of IETE and ISTE.

  • Best Paper Awards won for 4 conference papers.
  • Completed an internally funded (by SSN Trust) faculty project titled “Design and fabrication of a conformal wideband antenna for bio-medical applications”. Amount: Rs. 2,50,000/-. Duration: December 2020 – November 2021 2.
  • Guided an internally funded (by SSN Trust) student project titled “Piezoelectric Shoes” with the budget of ₹7500 during 2022 – 2023.
  • Guided an internally funded (by SSN Trust) student project titled “Wi-Fi Controlled Metal Detecting Rover”, with the budget of ₹10000 during 2020 – 2021.
  • Guided an internally funded (by SSN Trust) student project titled, “Smart Phone and Cloud Assisted Door System”, with the budget of ₹10000 during 2019 – 2020.
  • Guided an internally funded (by SSN Trust) student project titled, “Smart Restaurant Management System”, with the budget of ₹9000 during 2019 – 2020.
  • Guided an internally funded (by SSN Trust) student project titled, “Keyless to Remote-less access of car security system using Mobile app”, with the budget of ₹10000 during 2015 – 2016.
  • He is an Anna University recognized PhD supervisor and 3 scholars were awarded PhD under his guidance. He is currently guiding 1 doctorate scholar and 2 scholars are waiting for their selection.

    He mentored a team in the Smart India Hackathon – Software Edition held at Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, Biliya, Udaipur.
