Dr. Venkateswaran is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, Chennai, India, and serves as the coordinator for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). He earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, and holds an M.Tech degree from Pondicherry University. With over 28 years of teaching and research experience, along with six years in the industry, his expertise spans Image and Signal Processing, Biomedical Signal Processing, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Wireless Communication, and Photonics System Design. 

He has published over 120 papers in national and international journals and conferences, organized several faculty development programs, and attended more than 20 conferences and 25 faculty development initiatives. Recognized for his excellence in teaching, he received the Best Teacher Award for the academic year 2021-2022 and successfully mentored a student team to first place in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022.

As an active IEEE member for over a decade, Dr. Venkateswaran has played a significant role in the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), Madras Chapter. Since 2017, he has volunteered in various capacities, including serving as Secretary before becoming the Chair. He has been instrumental in organizing national conferences and was the Organizing Chair of WiSPNET 2021. He is also a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Integrated Sensing and Communication. As part of his efforts to promote signal processing education, he has invited and hosted numerous IEEE SPS distinguished lecture programs since 2017. Additionally, he serves on the doctoral committees of multiple research scholars from various universities.

Dr. Venkateswaran is a sought-after speaker, having delivered invited talks at numerous faculty development programs and academic institutions across India. He has chaired technical sessions at prestigious international conferences, including IEEE TENCON 2016 in Singapore and the 53rd IETE Mid-Term Symposium on “5G & Beyond: Technologies & Applications” in 2022 at Kathmandu, Nepal. Recently, he attended the renowned ICASSP 2024 conference in Seoul, South Korea, further strengthening his global academic presence. His contributions to research, education, and professional societies have significantly impacted the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

He has published over 120 research publications in refereed international journals and in proceedings of international conferences. As a principal investigator He has completed a project titled “Development of fusion algorithms for remotely sensed satellite images in cartographic applications” funded by SAC, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) during Dec 2019 – Sep 2022. He is a recognized supervisor of Anna University and currently guiding Three Ph.D. scholars. His areas are in the Field of Image and Signal Processing, Biomedical signal processing, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Wireless communication, and Photonics system design.
