Dr. A. Jawahar, Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication, has 33 years of teaching experience, including 20 years of teaching for the post-graduate program and 13 years of research experience. The research title is “Studies on Hybrid Topology Management Schemes for Wireless Sensor Networks”. He has received his B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, with first class from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) with first class from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, and M.S. in Electronics and Control Engineering with first class from BITS, Pilani, M.Tech in Remote Sensing with first class from College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai, and Ph.D., from SSN College of Engg., Anna University.

He has published over 43 research publications in refereed international journals, and 36 in International, National, and IEEE Explore digital library conference proceedings. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Life member of ISTE and a Life member of IETE. He is teaching and guiding undergraduate, graduate students, and Ph.D. scholars. Under his guidance, ten candidates have completed their Ph.D., and two are doing their Ph.D. He has attended around 30 workshops/conferences and also organized many workshops.

He has written five solution manuals. He held the SSN College of Engineering ISTE chapter chairman position for almost seven years. He was awarded the best teacher during the year 2003-04. He gave guest lectures and invited talks to Anna University, NIT Trichy, Velammal Institute of Technology, Agni Institute of Technology, Velammal Engineering College, etc., in wireless networks and Digital Design. His areas of interest include wireless sensor networks, digital design, and testing of VLSI circuits and optical networks. He attended a two-day workshop on “Course Design” by Prof. N. J. Rao. He designed the syllabus for the subject Digital Logic Design and Digital Logic Design – II for Globe University, USA. He is also a Question Paper Setter and Moderator for TNPSC Examinations.

He chaired a session at the 17th International Conference on Computing and Communications held in San Francisco on June 07-08, 2015, organized by WASET. He has been nominated as a Member in the Academic Council of VELS University for five years since December 2015. He attended an International Conference on Smart Cities, Automation & Intelligent Computing Systems in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and presented a paper in November 2017. He was invited as a member in the panel discussion to discuss “Network needs for Smart cities / Smart-Cities for India” organized by Nokia as part of “NOKIA Technology Day” at the NOKIA factory on November 14, 2017.

He mentored a team Brainstorm trooper who won the first prize in the Smart India Hackathon Hardware Edition Grand Finale held at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, June 18-22, 2018. He has guided two internally funded student projects and completed them successfully.

AICTE nominated him as a Margadarshak under AICTE’s scheme “MARGADARSHAK”. He has audited NBA SAR Document of SSN School of Management, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Engineering.

Regarding social activities, he has handled classes for Govt. Higher Secondary School Teachers during “HSC TEACHERS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME” conducted on July 27-28 in SSN College of Engineering and Volunteered Vidiyal Program during October 17-19, 2012 at Tiruvannamalai district.
