Achievements and Scholarships at SSN ECE

The Department of ECE at SSN takes pride in its students outstanding academic achievements, including top ranks in Anna University examinations and three gold medals. The department fosters research excellence by offering national and international internships at prestigious universities in Italy, Japan and the USA and PSUs and institutes of national importance in India. SSN also provides 100% walk-in walk-out scholarships for university rank holders in B.E/B. Tech Anna University examinations. Additionally, students actively participate in competitions organized by state and central government organizations, showcasing their technical expertise and innovation.

Students from the institution have demonstrated remarkable excellence across diverse fields, bringing recognition and accolades at national and international levels. A final year student has been selected to represent India at a prestigious global summit in Switzerland, showcasing the institution's contribution to cutting-edge technology and innovation. In the domain of emerging technologies, multidisciplinary student teams have excelled at national-level hackathons, with their projects advancing to regional competitions and securing podium finishes with significant cash awards.

Beyond technical achievements, students have also made their mark in sports, participating in inter-university tournaments and securing notable positions at the regional level. These accomplishments reflect the institution's holistic approach to education, nurturing talent in both academic and extracurricular pursuits, and preparing students to excel on national and international platforms across multiple disciplines.

The department’s annual conference WISPNET technically co-sponsored by IEEE is a mega event which hosts keynote addresses from eminent researchers and academicians across the globe. To meet the needs of the local community the department organizes a national conference called NCICT every year which is the culmination of delegates from various levels including IITs and NIT. To provide hands-on training on software and hardware, the department of ECE regularly conducts workshops for PG students.   • Kishore Ram S, Dhanu Pragateesh, and Sushanth, students of the 2nd year ECE, secured third place in the Line Follower Robot competition at RoboFest 1.0. The competition, held from 10th to 12th September 2025 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, came with a cash prize of 3000 rupees.
  • Dhanu Pragateesh K of II year ECE secured Third place representing Build Club in the Line Follower Competition – RoboFest 1.0, organized by SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, on September 11, 2025. The team also received a cash prize of ₹3000.
  • Fadhil Syed Kader of 4th Year ECE-A participated in the Regional Finale of the NXP AiM Robotics Competition and is one of the 14 teams qualified for the upcoming Grand Finale organized by NXP Semiconductors on July 28, 2025.
  • Anbuselvam B, a 3rd-year ECE student at SSN College of Engineering, participated in the Hardware Hackathon, organized by PCB Cupid and LionCircuits, along with his team members Sharan K (ECE 3rd year), Anirudh Velupala (ECE 3rd year), and Saikirtan (ECE 3rd year), on July 26, 2025.
  • Harshini Ganga, a third-year ECE student, attended a 5-day workshop on Research Opportunities in Computer Architecture, organized by the Department of CSE, IIT Hyderabad, from July 11 to 15th, 2025.
  • ANBUSELVAM B, III Year, ECE, has completed an Internship and Live Project under the Research & Development area "Embedded System" in COPTERCODE on July 11, 2025. The internship happened for 1 month at Coptercode, IIT Madras Research Park, Kanagam, Taramani, Chennai.
  • SSN ECE student team comprising of UG students and Ms. V.S. Pranitha, Ms. R. Negha, and Mr.. P. Srinivasan PG-CS 2024-2026 Batch, Dr. P. Kaythry, ASP, ECE, presented their Idea for the National-level 5G Hackathon selected for the South Zone on 25.06.2025
  • Sreeram R, ECE 3rd year, attended the VLSID 2025: Silicon Meets AI, 38th International Conference on VLSI Design and 24th International Conference on Embedded Systems as a delegate from 4th to 8th January, 2025, at the Leela Palace, Bengaluru.
  • I Syed Azim, Final Year Student, Batch 2021-2024, selected as AI Good Scholar-2025 from India in AI Good Global Summit-2025 at Geneva, Switzerland
  • Themozhi J and Ms. Sushmithaa Pandian (Final Year, Batch 2021-2025), along with two other students from the Department of CSE, won third prize with a cash award of ₹10,000 at HackZ'24, College of Engineering (CEG), Guindy.
  • A Kundana Sri (III Yr /ECE) and Dhanya P (I Yr / ECE) had participated in the South Zone and All India Inter University Tennis (W) tournaments organized by Manipal Academy of Higher Education from 07.12.24 to 16.12.24, and the Anna University Tennis team secured fourth place in the South Zone tournament.
  • Sushmithaa P and Themozhi J, 4th-year ECE students, were selected as one of the top 20 finalist teams in CEG's National Level Hackathon, HackZ 2024, and won the Best Women's Team Award on November 23, 2024.
  • Gowshika J, Divya Jha, Johann Sylvester, and Fadhil Syed Kader qualified for and participated in the NXP AIM 2024 Regional Finale at RVCE in Bangalore on August 10, 2024.
  • Rupadharshini R won "Go Karting Championship -the best innovation and green award in (KRC 2024)" organized by AIMS academy Coimbatore during 26th to 29th February 2024.
  • Harshavardan of II-year ECE bagged First prize in the programming competition called 'Python Coding Challenge 2.0', organized by Margazhi'24 - An IIT Madras Online Degree Fest on January 4, 2024.
  • Sai Skand S and S P Tushar Balaji of the III year ECE bagged the third place in Electro Hunt, a Technical Event with three rounds, each testing core technical skills, in Kurukshetra'24, at the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, on March 1, 2024.
  • MOSphere, consisting of Ajitessh R, Sreeram R, and Vineeth Roshan Premanand of III year ECE, finished second out of 70 total teams and won a cash award of ₹35000 in the Shakti FPGA Track (Track 3) hosted by Shakra Innovations at DIR-V 25 at IIT-M. In this track, the Shakti SoC was utilized to develop a Color Sorting Robotic Arm during a 48-hour hackathon, leveraging a Class C Shakti core on a Nexys Video FPGA.
  • Sujay Samuel S and Samuel Robinson R of IV-year ECE bagged the First place in the VSDOpen2023 RISC-V Product Development Hackathon conducted by Digital India RISC-V, Krypton Solutions, and VLSI System Design (VSD). The event was held from November 10, 2023, to October 13, 2023, at Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore.
  • Justin Benito, a second-year ECE student, secured second place in the Unfold'23 Blockchain Hackathon under the Router Protocol category and won $300, representing SSNCE, from October 19 to 21st, 2023, in Bangalore.
  • Nivedhan S, E Nivetha, Pavithra V, and R Sai Ranjani, students of III Year ECE from SSN College of Engineering, participated in and won the Runner Up position in the preliminary round of IEEE YESIST'12 2023, organised by SSN College of Engineering on March 31, 2023. Their team, "Team Resolution," got direct entry to the finale at Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt (Hybrid Mode).
  • Anurapaaa V R and Jayashree C.G of II year ECE, have attended the Tamil workshop titled "Maaberum Tamil Kanuvu" at SRM University on 31.03.2023.
  • Shree Varshini of III year ECE worked as a Research Intern at DRDO CVRDE on EMI EMC domain FROM 10.01.2023 TO 10.02.2023. She completed and submitted the project report on EMI/EMC FOR MILITARY SYSTEMS by working under a scientist E.
  • Ananya Prabhu of III year ECE has been shortlisted as a finalist in the TN SDGC Women's competition for SDG held on 18.02.2023, at Ethiraj College of Women (11.2 - Sustainable Communities and Cities) by presenting an IoT-based project, the "Energy Managed Building".
  • Ananya Prabhu, a third-year ECE student, participated in the SSN IEEE Ideate for Women's Entrepreneurship Day with Meraki on November 28, 2022, presenting an IoT-based project, "Smart Glucose Door Handle," designed to combat diabetes.
  • Manivannan of the IV year ECE has presented a paper entitled "Brain tumor segmentation using 3DResUNET34" in the 2022 International Conference on Futuristic Technologies (INCOFT) during 25th to 27th November 2022.
  • Jaswand Raja S of IV year ECE has presented a research paper titled " A wideband Low Noise Amplifier for 5G Applications using 45nm CMOS Technology" in the International Conference on Advances in Electrical Measurements and Instrumentation, AEMI-2022, on November 12, 2022.
  • Shreyas Sai R, a second-year ECE student, along with three members from SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, and Shiv Nadar IoE, Noida, secured third place at UNLEASH Hacks for their Idea, "RECONNECT," and received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The three-day national event was conducted from 4th to 6th November 2022 at the Shiv Nadar IoE, Noida.
  • Krishi Divya Dharshini V and Manjunathan R of IV year ECE bagged the First prize at the Smart India Hackathon Hardware edition conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, at the Forge Accelerator, Coimbatore, from 25th to 29th August 2022, and were awarded a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees.
