The Master of Engineering program in Computer Science & Engineering was started in the academic year 2003-2004. The program has been accredited by NBA in 2016 for five years for the well-designed teaching-learning process, experienced and committed faculty, excellent infrastructure, and the success of the graduates. Under the autonomous Regulations 2018, this program richly integrates practicals with the foundational courses inculcating in students confidence and skill in programming. The program is supported by two dedicated labs for curriculum-oriented courses, and two research labs with cutting-edge hardware for Machine Learning and Distributed Systems. The Department has a thriving Machine Learning Research Group, giving exciting opportunities to students for training, research and project work in Data Science.

My Joy has no bounds to take the opportunity of remembering the golden moments and experiences I have in SSN College. Perhaps for everyone it is just a college, for me it is the game changer. Exactly to say it transformed me from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. There are many things at our college that influenced my career a lot. The standards of lab assignments made my coding skills very strong. I won more than 10 internal hackathons conducted by PayPal. Now I am adaptable to work in any technology and able to learn new technologies very easily in a short period. We have a very dedicated faculty who not only taught us concepts theoretically but also helped us to use them practically. My ME academic project, research work and strict project reviews taught to face any challenge in the workstation Literature survey and reading papers during the academic project helped me a lot in designing robust machine learning models for my organization. The best things I learnt from college are presentation skills and writing research papers. That helped me a lot to speak my work in different developer conferences like GIDS (Great India developer summit) and (GHCI). I submitted 3 proposals to US patents, and they are in final stages to be patented.
Choosing SSN for pursuing my Masters degree is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my entire life. Prior to SSN, I was only a good coder and passionate engineer. However, the lab courses and the project work at SSN helped me tremendously in improving my implementation skills and application of various computer science concepts to real-world problems. I am very grateful to the CSE Department for providing a suitable ecosystem to experiment with various state-of-the-art technologies in the areas of Cloud and Big Data. The unique opportunities provided by SSN landed me in prestigious internships with TCS, Caterpillar and eventually in a dream placement with Coda Global. Overall the CSE Department at SSN played an important role in shaping my career.
SSN has transformed my career from a Software Developer to a Research Scientist. Professors guided me to bring out my talents and ability to understand computer science for real world problems.
When I graduated from SSN, I left the college not just with a degree in my hand, but also with fantastic experiences and valuable skills, a better and stronger person which led me to open my doors to pursue PhD in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)- Kharagpur. SSN gave me the freedom to broaden my horizons to collaborate with professors and researchers, which helped me to refine myself in what I am doing by getting timely feedback. The way they treated, which made me feel SSN college as a home and professors to be my family members.
Having completed the Bachelor degree from a rural area, even the simplest assignment in the first semester looked complex for most of the students in class. The staff members supported us really well to have an amazing transition in learning several technical skills related to web/desktop based programming, software engineering, and project management. My project supervisor sent a recommendation letter to the University of Auckland (New Zealand) to help me continue my research as a Doctoral Candidate, and I received Rs. 65 Lakhs worth of scholarship for my PhD study. I completed my PhD in Computer Systems Engineering in April 2018 with a nomination for ‘Best Thesis Award. I would like to thank SSN for supporting me with the Merit scholarship (worth INR 1.5 Lakhs) for 2 years, which helped me to complete my study with ease. Overall, my experience at SSN was amazing, and I consider my life in SSN as one of the milestones to learn some of the high quality skills for my career.
SSN has indeed helped hone my skills. Learning at SSN was an enjoyable experience, and I am thankful, for the numerous conversations with a subset of incredible professors and students, whom I interacted with, they shaped my research ideas. In my ongoing PhD in formal verification, I am able to successfully build upon theory that I learnt during my masters, as well as use my software development skills that I gained owing to the placement offers I had. More importantly, I met and networked with wonderful people on campus, which has helped me grow into who I am today
