The active research in Chemical Engineering department was started in the year 2006. The major research areas of the Department are Alternative Fuels, Biosorption, Hydrotropy, Extraction, Nanotechnology, Sol-Gel synthesis, Wastewater treatment and CO2 sequestration. The Department is highly equipped with research equipment’s and chemical engineering software like CHEMCAD, Ansys, AspenPlus, MATLAB & Simulink, COSMOThermX and TURBOMOLE etc., for carrying out research.
Already twelve faculty members have become the research guides of Anna University, Chennai. Chemical Engineering students have been involved in research work; moreover, they have published several papers in highly reputed international journals.
