- N.Shankar (IV Yr ECE) secured the gold medal in the shot put event in the Chief minister Trophy organized by Sports Development Authority in Tamilnadu
- SSN Men badminton team won the Winners trophy in the Anna University Inter zone Badminton tournament held at Surya Institute of Technology, Villupuram
- Teacher’s Day was celebrated with Mr. Erode Thamil Anban, Poet and Orator as the Chief Guest. Best Teacher Awards and Prizes for the cultural event winners were distributed during the occasion.
- July 30, 2012 to August 3, 2012 - INSPIRE Science Camp sponsored by DST was conducted which was coordinated by Dr. N.P. Rajesh, AP/Physics. 160 students from different schools participated.

- On September 28th , Mr.Prabaharane, AP,ECE has presented a lecture titled, “Cooperative Communications" at the National Level workshop on MIMO - OFDM wireless communications on 28th Sep 2012 at Anand Institute of Higher technology, Chennai.
- On September 27th , Dr.N.Venkateswaran, Professor, ECE has delivered a lecture on “Interference Cancellation in MIMO systems" at the National Level workshop on MIMO - OFDM wireless communications conducted by Anand Institute of Higher technology, Chennai.
- On September 26th ,Mr. S. SakthivelMurugan,AP,ECE& Mr. C. Vinoth Kumar, AP, ECE has received the Best Teacher award for the year 2010-11.
- On September 25th, Dr. S. Radha, HoD, ECE has delivered a talk on “Wireless sensor Networks for Industrial Applications” at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai.
- On September 14th& 15th , The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, has conducted a two days’ workshop on
Electronic System Design and Manufacturing”. The workshop is sponsored by Ministryof Communication and Information Technology.
- On September 14th& 15th , Ms. Edna Elizabeth,Asso.Prof,ECE, Ms. Kaythry, AP,ECE, Ms. Karthika, AP, ECE has attended a workshop on “Network Simulator(NS2) Hands-on Training” organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering , SSN College of Engineering.
- On September 8th ,Dr.Jayaparvathy Professor, ECE presented an invited talk on "Embedded and Real Time Systems” at SVS Group of Institutions, Coimbatore.

September 7 , 2012 - The Department of Chemical Engineering conducted a National level conference on “Nanomaterials sponsored by DRDO, New Delhi. Dr. Jayavel , Director, Centre for Nanoscience and technology, Anna University gave the inaugural address. Faculty and students from various colleges presented the research papers.

Mr. Veeraraghavan Narayanaswamy, Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head, Cognizant was the Chief Guest and Mr. S. Ramasamy, Vice President, Qatalyst Technology & CSI Regional Vice President, Chennai was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Manish Gupta, Director, IBM Research Lab, New Delhi gave the valedictory address. 67 delegates registered and 56 papers have been presented during the conference.
- April 10, 2012 - 16th College Day was celebrated with Mr. Suresh Jandhyala, Director General of Income Tax (Inv.), Chennai as the Chief Guest
- March 27, 2012 - Thirteenth Sports Day was celebrated with Ms. Joshna Chinnappa, International Squash Player as the Chief Guest.
- March 26, 2012 - Fifth SSN Research Day was celebrated with Prof. A.K. Barua, Former director, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, as the Chief Guest.
- March 22 & 23, 2012 - The Department of EEE organized the Second National Conference on Power Electronics & Renewable Energy Systems- PEARES 2012 supported by CSIR.. The Conference was inaugurated by Shri.A.Jyothish Kumar, Associate Director, IGCAR.
- March 8,9,& 10, 2012 – INSTINCTS 2012 was conducted.
- February 27, 2012 - The Department of Chemical Engineering organized a one day national Conference on “Recent Trends – Chemical Energy & Bio-Chemical”. Dr. P.S.T. Sai, Professor, Chemical Engineering, IIT Madras inaugurated the Conference. More than 60 participated from various colleges.
- January 23 to 27, 2012 - SSNCE conducted the Department of Science and Technology sponsored INSPIRE Science Camp for school children. Dr. Prabhatkumar, Project Director, BHAVINI inaugurated this camp.
- December 1, 2011 - Ms. P. Jeevitha, IV B.Tech. (IT), Mr. S. Dinesh. IV B.Tech. (IT), Mr. Narendran, IV B.Tech. (IT) and Mr. P.Manikandan, IV B.E. (EEE) received the Best NSS Volunteers award from Anna University for the academic year 2010-2011.
- December 1, 2011 - The Principal and Ms. P. Kaythry, AP/ECE and NSS Programme Officer of SSN attended the NSS Award Function at Anna University Chennai and received the “Best NSS Unit” award for the academic year 2010-2011 from Hon’ble Thiru. Palaniappan, Minister of Higher Education, Tamilnadu.
- October 21, 2011 - 13th Scholarship award function was conducted with Dr. Arjun Rajagopalan, FRCS (Canada), FACS DABS, Medical Director & Trustee, Sundaram Medical Foundation, Chennai as the Chief Guest and Ms.Sheela Rani Chunkath, IAS, Chairman & Managing Director, Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation as the Guest of Honour.
- June 14, 2011 - Our College has received an award from "Lions Blood Bank" for the valuable contribution of Blood Donation at a function held at Hotel Savera.
- April 26, 2011 - Felicitation function to R.Ashwin, I MBA was organized for his achievement in the ICC World cup -2011. Mrs. Roshini Nadar, Mrs. Kala Vijayakumar, Mr. Srinivasan, Mr. Krishnamurthy and Mr. P.Siva Prasad participated in the function.
- We congratulate our college Badminton ( M & W) teams have won the winners trophy and Table Tennis ( M &W ) teams have won the Runners- up trophy in the Kongu Trophy organized by Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai from 08.09.12 to 10.09.12.
- Susmitha ( I year ECE ) has secured four gold medals and three silver medals in the Anna University inter zone swimming competition held at Madurai on 11.09.12 and our college received the overall runners- up championship for the women's category
- R.Nelesh subramanian ( II year Chemical ) has been selected for Tamilnadu cricket team and participating in the Moin-ud.Dowla gold cup tournament held at Hyderabad from 06.09.12 to 16.09.12.
- K.Sriteja ( II year IT ) and M.Saitanuj ( I year Mech ) have been represented the country in the Sushnath chippalkatti memorial international badminton junior championship held at Pune from 04.09.12 to 07/09.12
- A.Anaka ( II year CSE ) has won the Indian junior open squash championship title held at Chennai form 27.08.12 to 31.08.12

- March 26, 2011 - College Day was graced by Honorable Justice Mr. Rajendran. He distribute the medals for the Rank holders and also gave the awards for the Best Outgoing student of the Year.

March 3-5, 2011 - Instincts VI - Intercollegiate Cuturals. Director-Goutham Menon, Actor- Vishal, Solomon Pappaiyya and many cine-celebrities came as the Chief Guest and as Judges for the events. The three day culturals was a great success

E-Week India 2011 – A national level competition organized by the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), where 539 institutions, 30 organizations, and 6,00,000 students came together to spread the spirit of entrepreneurship, wrapped in the theme, Ideas for India, during February 5th to 12th, 2011.

Alumni Meet Tribute '11 was organised on January 8, 2011. More than 600 Alumni attended the evening from across the globe.

Scholarship Day was an important function where around 457 students received scholarships worth 4 crores across all years and Branches. Mr. Ravi Kant, Vice-Chairman, Tata Motors facilitated the grand function. The Function was held on October 20, 2010.
