Teachers' day celebrations 2009: |

|
On September 7, 2009 Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's
birthday was celebrated as Teachers day at the
college premises. Chief Guest Kavingar Kanimozhi,
MP, distributed the Best Teacher Awards to the
faculties for their invaluable support and
contribution towards education and research at SSN
Institutions, in the presence of Ms. Roshini Nadar,
SSN Trustee, Mr. Ambi Srinivasan, Chairman, SSN
Institutions, Ms.Kala Vijaykumar, President, SSN
institutions, Dr. Saivahanan, Principal, SSN College
of Engineering, Dr. Shashikant V. Albal Director,
SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering and Mr.
B. Srinivasan, Director, SSN School of Management of
Computer Applications and Mr. Ramkumar Ramamoorthy,
Vice President, Cognizant Technology Solutions Ltd.
Speaking at the occasion, Ms.Kala Vijaykumar,
President, SSN Institutions, said, "Teachers play a
pivotal role in every student's life. They are
responsible for the overall development of the
students and molding them into socially responsible
citizens" She quoted Shri C V Raman who stated his
inability to be present for an award function as he
had to help his research scholar complete his PhD
thesis on time as an example to the level of
commitment of great teachers towards their students. |

Mr.
Selvakumar of MCA and Ms. Saba Fatima of EEE spoke
about the significance of Teachers. Mr. K. Murugesan,
Senior Lecturer of EEE department and Ms. Rajeswari,
Asst Professor of Mechanical department spoke about
the significance of being Teachers.
Kavingnar Kanimozhi, MP, addressing the gathering of
faculties and students during the ceremony said
Teachers decide what the students will become in
future as students spend most of their waking hours
in the college. She also requested the younger
generation to be more empathetic and altruistic
rather than being self centered.
Mr. Ram Kumar Ramamoorthy started on a lighter note
and went on to give some great insights to students
on their future.

Cognizant Technology Solutions Ltd, a leading IT
company had instituted Best Faculty Award since 2006
at SSN, for faculties for their extraordinary
contribution towards education and research. This
year Dr.Radha, Prof & Head, Department of
Electronics & Communication Engineering won the
award. Mr. Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, Vice President,
Cognizant Technology Solutions Ltd presented the
Award to Dr. S. Radha on the occasion. Around 17
Best Teacher Awards were distributed to the
faculties across departments for their tremendous
support and contributions in education and research
at SSN Institutions. |
