SSN Institutions holds the 9th Graduation Day |
|
|
SSN Institutions, an initiative of Dr. Shiv Nadar,
Founder, HCL Group, held its 9th Graduation ceremony
with the traditional academic regalia at its campus
at Kalavakkam today. Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar, Vice
Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, the Chief
Guest conferred degrees to 638 graduate and
postgraduate students from various engineering and
management programs. Ms. Kala Vijaykumar, President,
SSN Institutions welcomed the special invitees,
faculty and students. The Principal Dr. S.
Salivahanan presented the report of the institution.
Nine students who are University Rank holders were
awarded the prestigious 'Chairman's Gold Medal.'
Gold and silver medals for securing first and second
ranks respectively, in the college, in the
disciplines concerned, were awarded to 24 students
of the BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech, MCA and MBA courses.
The Chairman's Gold medal winners included Ramya M.
& Jayanthi (B.E Computer Science Engineering),
Aparna Sridhar & Manasa Madhavan, Ismail Basha (B.Tech-Information
Technology), Jone Rosy S (M.E-Applied Electronics),
Akila M. & Dona Mathews (M.E-Communication Systems)
and Jeyapradha (M.E-Power Electronics).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.P.Mannar Jawahar
stated: "I offer my warmest congratulations to all
of you who will receive degrees now. You are at the
threshold of entering into a world that is full of
challenges and opportunities. There is a noble
mission before you as young engineers: The mission
is to help in transforming India from a developing
nation to a developed one by 2020, a goal set by our
distinguished former President of India Dr. A. P.J.
Abdul Kalam. Technological leaders of modern India
would have to emerge from you and others like you."
Kala Vijayakumar, President, SSN Institutions
opined, "The institution believes in promoting the
innate potential in the younger generation so that
they would rise to the highest levels of global
technocracy and leadership. This is the founder's
vision. To carry forward these goals, this
not-for-profit Institution is undertaking major
strategic initiatives aimed at excellence and
research-based education and collaboration." |
