The Trust

‘Shri Sivasubramaniya Nadar Educational and Charitable Trust’ was founded in 1994 by Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar and his elder brother (Late) Justice Pratap Singh, a Judge of the Madras High Court. A legal luminary, Justice Pratap Singh dedicated his life to a number of social causes that served the greater good of society. The trust is instituted in honour of their father, (Late) Sri. Sivasubramaniya Nadar.

The Trust has established the SSN Institutions, comprising SSN College of Engineering (SSN CE) and the SSN School of Management & Computer Applications (SSN SoMCA). The institutions are run on a not-for-profit basis, and aim to provide the highest quality educational and research facilities for meritorious students belonging to all economic strata.

Management

A three member Managing Committee oversees the operations of the Trust:

1. Mrs. Kala Vijayakumar as President – SSN Institutions

2. Mr. P. Sivaprasad, Advocate, Madras High Court, as Chairman – Governing Council

3. Mr. N. Ranjit, President & Chief Operating Officer, HCL BPO, as
                         Chairman – Strategic Planning & Policies

The administrative and professional competence of these members constitutes a source of valuable strength for the accomplishment of the Institutions' goals.

Principal

Dr. S. Salivahanan, B.E., M.E., Ph.D.

With 28 years of experience in teaching, research and industry, Dr. Salivahanan brings an ideal mix of capabilities to the post of Principal. Dr. Salivahanan has taught at NIT – Trichy, RVCE – Bangalore and ACCET – Karaikudi, among other places. During his distinguished career, Dr. Salivahanan has also been a scientist at ISRO, authored numerous books and papers, guided many students for their Ph.D.’s and received many honours and awards.
