J.Raja graduated from Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai during the year 1988 in Electronics and Communication Engineering Discipline. He obtained his Master’s degree during the year 1992 with the specialization in Control and Instrumentation from College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai. He joined the Telematics Laboratory, School of ECE, College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai-25 to pursue his research work during the year 1997 in field of Digital Communication. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in the year 2003.Currently he is the Professor and Head of the department of Information Technology, SSN College of Engineering, Kalavakkam, Chennai -603 110. He has published 9 technical papers in National and International Journals and about 40 publications to his credit in National and International Conferences. His current research areas of interest include Error Control Coding, Networking, and VLSI.

Currently he is guiding 12 research scholars for their Ph.D. programme in Anna University, Chennai. He has guided about 16 PG projects so far.
