• Dr. C. Aravindan and Mr. C. Balamurugan have sent a project proposal titled “Building a Generic Database    Application Development Tool In Tamizh” to Tamil Virtual University during June, 2004.

• Dr. J. Raja and Ms. V.S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran have submitted a proposal under Research Promotion    Scheme to AICTE in July, 2004.

• Design and Implementation of a New Switching Architecture for Broadband Networks: Principal    Investigator Dr. J. Raja and the Co-investigator is Ms. V.S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran.

• Dr. P. Seethalakshmi has sent two proposals on Staff Development Programme to AICTE in July, 2004.

• Association D’ Information Technology was inaugurated for this academic year by Mr. Fareed Ahmed,    Director, Innovation Business Factory India Pvt. Ltd. on 31st July, 2004.

• Mr. K.K. Thyagarajan, A.P., Department of IT wrote a book on “Microprocessors” which was published by    Charu Latha Publications Pvt. Ltd. in August, 2004.

• A three day workshop on “Real Time Embedded Systems & VxWorks” was conducted by United    Semiconductor Solutions for final year IT & ECE students in the IT department from 22st-24th    

   September, 2004.

• Dr. J. Raja, HOD-IT, Mr. K.K. Thyagharajan, AP-IT and Mr. C. Thiruvenkatesan, AP-ECE have sent two    proposals for ISTE sponsored Short Term Training Programmes in October, 2004.

• Dr. P. Seethalakshmi, Professor-IT, was awarded Doctorate degree in Computer Science and Engineering    by Anna University on 4.10.2004.

• Dr. Seethalakshmi Pandian, Professor-IT, Dr. S. Salivahanan, Principal, Mrs. J. Rosaline Nirmala, Sr.    Lecturer-IT, and Ms. T. Shanmuga Priya, Lecturer-IT have sent three proposals for ISTE sponsored Short    Term Training Programme in October, 2004.

• Dr. P. Seethalakshmi presented an invited lecture on Multimedia Streaming at Kumaraguru College of    Technology, Coimbatore for STTP on ‘Recent Trends & Issues in Computer Networks” n

November, 2004.

• Ms. Bharghavi gave 3 lectures on Verilog HDL in the STTP on Mainframe, Midrange and Microcomputers    plus Technical articles at CSE Department of SSNCE in November, 2004.

• Prof. Dr. J. Raja, HOD, IT, co-ordinated Anna University sponsored FDP on “Component Based    Technologies” conducted by IT Department from 29th November to 4th December, 2004.

• Dr. P.Seethalakshmi delivered lectures in the Faculty Development Program on Multimedia conducted by    Hindustan College of Engineering, Padur 2nd-8th December, 2004.

• A book titled “Flash 2004” written Mr. K. K. Thyagharajan, A.P., IT Dept. was published by Tata McGraw Hill    Pvt. Ltd. in January, 2005.
