S. Mohanavalli obtained her BE (CSE) degree from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in the year 1992, and Masters in CSE from Anna University, Chennai in the year 2005. She has experience both in industry as well as academics. After playing various roles like, Software programmer, analyst, co-ordinator and Systems I/c for 6 years in industry, she started her career in the teaching field as a lecturer in 1998 at MNM Jain Engineering College, where she was awarded best teacher award in 2000. She joined SSN as a lecturer in 2001.

She has taught various major and elective subjects for both UG & PG degree. (Data Structures, Design of Algorithms, Computer Graphics, Software Engineering, Software Quality Management, OOSD, MIS, Database Technology, Data Warehousing & Mining Computer Architecture, etc.,) She has guided a few research projects in the area of Data Mining & Software Engineering applying soft computing tools and has published 4 technical papers in National and International Conferences.

Her current research interest is about designing parallel algorithms for data mining applications and is pursuing Ph.D (part time programme) in CSE at Anna University, Chennai.
