Scholarship Award Function - 2007
Scholarship award function was held on 24th
October 2007 at SSN Auditorium. Mr.Shiv Nadar,
Founder, SSN Institutions presided over the function
wherein the Chief Guest was Padmashree Dr.P.Rama Rao,
FNA, Member, Atomic Energy Commission.
Dr.V.S.Arunachalam, Founder and Chairman of Centre
for Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP)
participated. Dr.S.Salivahanan, Principal welcomed the
gathering. Mrs.Kala Vijayakumar, President, SSN
Institutions highlighted the genesis of the
scholarship scheme. Dr.S.V.Albal, Director proposed a
vote of thanks.
Scholarships worth Rs.4 Crores were distributed to 300
students under the following categories:
1.Walk-in-Walk-out
2.Merit
3.Merit cum Means
4.Sports
14 students received the coveted Walk-in-Walk-out
Scholarships as they were among the top ten rank
holders of various State Board / CBSE Qualifying
Examinations. This scholarship entitles the holder to
pursue 4 years of engineering education absolutely
free of cost.
Mr.R.Senthilnathan of EEE 2001 batch participated with
family .He is sponsoring a poor student to pursue his
B.E. degree . He has already helped a poor girl to
pursue her Engineering Education. Mr.Prerit Mittal’s (EEE
2003) parents participated and awarded Rs.25000 as
Scholarship to one EEE student. They have decided to
give away this scholarship amount to one EEE student
every year.
From 2008-09 onwards , all the M.E students will be
entitled to receive scholarships to pursue their 2
year post graduate studies in engineering at SSN
Institutions.
