Dr.Anantharaj Ramalingam is working as a Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, SSN College of Engineering,Chennai-603110  since 16 March 2015. He has received his Diploma in Chemical Technology, first class with Honors from State Board of Technical Education and Training in Tamilnadu, India in 2002. He obtained a Bachelor in Chemical Technology from Anna University in 2005 and Master in Chemical Engineering from Annamalai University in 2007. A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering from Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), Assam, India, in 2011. He completed his Ph.D degree under the supervision of Dr. Tamal Banerjee, Department of Chemical Engineering, IITG, Assam, India. His Ph.D research work has been published in 18 peer reviewed journals such as AIChE Journal, Journal of Chemical Engineering Data, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Fluid Phase Equilibria, The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, Journal of Molecular Liquids, Journal of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, Fuel Processing Technology, The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering and etc.. 14 articles presented at National & International Conferences in India and abroad. Till date, he has published more than 60 research article in an international Journals.

His present research work is focused on  Zero Emission of Liquid Fuels (i.e.SOX,NOx & COx) and Zero Emissions from Industrial Wastewater (i.e.Toxic and Hazardous Substances) using Ionic Liquids (ILs), Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) and Surfactant through Extraction Process. Fast solvent screening using quantum chemical methods in order to find the potential solvent for the specific application, synthesis the potential solvent based on our prediction results, characterization and its used for specific applications via Separation techniques.

He has received sponsored project 20 Lakhs (YSS/2015/001546) for 3 years from SERB, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. 2.5 Lakhs consultancy project received from Sheenlac Paints Limited. Chennai-600 098.

He is the recipient of the awards;ProSPER.Net-Scopus Young Scientist Award 2013 (First-Runner up)” for Sustainable Development in Transport Category from ELSEVIER and United Nation university-Institute of advanced studies at Nanyang Technological University – Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute in Singapore in 19 August 2013. On 27 February 2014. He also received “Thermax-ASSET Awards 2013 for best Ph.D Thesis” from Association of Separation scientists and technologists, C/O Radio chemistry division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Trombay, Mumbai-400085, India.

He is a Life Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (LMIIChE: LM-47605), India, Associate Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (AMIChemE: 99967430), UK and Member in Society of Petroleum Engineers (MSPE: 4153979), US. Life Member of Association of Separation Scientist and Technologist, (LMASSET: LM-0246), India. He is more familiar with Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Separation process, Petroleum & Petrochemical Engineering and Quantum Chemical & Molecular Modeling. He had more than 5 years teaching and research experience from various intuitions such as E.G.S.PillayEngineeringCollege, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, and National Institute of Technology Tiruchirapplli in Tamil Nadu, India. And also from University of Malaya in Malaysia since  October 2012 to January 2015.
