Dr. K. Mohammed Haneefa B.E (Civil Engineering) M.Tech (Construction Technology) Ph.D

Dr. K. Mohammed Haneefa did his B.E (Civil Engineering, 2005) and M.Tech (Construction Technology, 2007) from Viswesaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, Karnataka.  He joined as a Full time Ph.D. scholar in Building Technology and Construction Management at IIT Madras and pursued his research in performance evaluation of special concrete for sodium cooled fast breeder reactors. His doctoral research  was inter disciplinary – encompassing civil engineering, chemistry, geology and material science – which enabled to identify the fundamental mechanisms of degradation of concrete in such applications. He completed his Ph.D. in June 2014 and his PhD thesis received   a national award for outstanding thesis on concrete in India (2014), conferred by central committee of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI).

He was the recipient of the Gold Medal for securing 1st Rank in M.Tech Construction Technology from VTU, Belgaum and a Post Doctoral Fellowship from IIT Madras as an appreciation for fast and quality research. He had a short stint as Consultant Materials Engineer in ACE International, Dubai for a period of 1 year. He also had worked as a Project Officer in the Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research Centre, IIT Madras.

His research interests / Area of expertise includes: Concrete Technology, Materials Characterization, and Forensic Evaluation of Degradation of Construction Materials

He has published more than 20 papers in International / National Journals / Conferences. He holds professional affiliations as Life Member with more than 10 International/ National professional bodies. Dr. Haneefa is a peer reviewer to many international journals which include ASCE Materials, ACI Materials, Materials and Design and Steel Research International.

At SSN, he handles the subjects Concrete Technology, Construction Materials, Construction Planning and Scheduling, Construction Technology, Practices and Equipments, Concrete and Highway Engineering Laboratory and Engineering Graphics.
