Dr. R. Saritha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, has 5 years of research experience in the field of Queueing Theory. Her area of specialization is “Stochastic Processes and its Applications including Queueing Theory”.She has completed her B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Madras University, securing first class with distinction, M.Sc. (Mathematics with Computer Applications) and          M. Phil. (Mathematics) degree from Annamalai University, securing first class with distinction. She has received the Gold Medal for first rank in the M.Sc. degree. She is also the recipient of the following awards during M.Sc. degree.
    1. “Ramasamy Padayatchiar Endowment” Merit Award for I M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) during the academic year 2002-2003.
    2. “Ramanujan Centennial Award” from Pro-Chancellor Dr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy Endowment for the Meritorious Student of I  and II M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) during the academic years 2002-2004.
    3. “Prof. V. Ganapathy Aiyar Prize” for highest marks in I M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) during the academic year 2002-2003.
    4. “Ramasamy Padayatchiar Endowment” Award for II M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) during the academic year 2003-2004.
    5. “Mrs. Littlehailes Prize” for securing the 1st highest marks in the M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) held on December 2004.
    6. “Dr. K. Rangaswamy, Dr. Bala V. Balachandran – Student Educational Programme Prize” for securing the highest marks in the subject “Differential Geometry” of the M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) held on December 2004.
    7. “Prof. V. Ganapathy Aiyar Prize” for securing the highest marks in the final year M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) held on December 2004.
    8. “Prof. N. Ganesan Prize” for securing the highest marks in the subject “Algebra and Advanced Algebra” of the M.Sc. Mathematics (with Computer Applications) held on December 2004.

She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis entitled “Contributions to the study on finite source queues” in the Department of Mathematics, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar. During her Ph.D. she was awarded University Research Studentship from 01.07.2007 to 20.11.2007 and UGC – Research Fellowship in Science Meritorious Students from 01.07.2008 to 31.03.2011. She has published two research papers, one in Proceedings of International Conference and the other in an International Journal.
