Samudhay – Creating Model Villages
As you are aware, SSN is a philanthropic initiative of Dr.Shiv Nadar to give back to the society. This was based on his firm belief that providing quality education is among the best ways to contribute to the society. Today, SSN is among the leading educational institutions in the country.
The next big step, in which SSN plans to play an active role, is to assist the HCL Foundation to reach out to the heart of India – its villages. An ambitious mission of developing “model villages” across the country has been initiated. This is appropriately named *Samudhay*. Samudhay will address five broad areas in the villages – Education; Healthcare; Infrastructure; Water and Employability.
The HCL Foundation is planning to institutionalize an award for recognizing NGOs, who have done exemplary work in effectively transforming villages in any one of the five verticals mentioned above. A lot of good work is already being done in the villages by many NGOs, spread across the country. We need to identify them and understand their models and effectiveness.
We are seeking your involvement in helping us identify such NGOs, who have effectively and efficiently transformed villages. Please do provide us (firstname.lastname@example.org) the details of such NGOs. The HCL Foundation will reward the selected NGOs and adopt their best practices for implementing in other villages with their support.
This is a noble endeavour and I am sure you will join hands with us for identifying the NGOs who have done commendable work in creating successful models for transforming villages.
