Dr. P. Venugopal, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics has 19 years of teaching experience, and he has been associated with SSN right from its inception

He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and M.Phil degrees from St. Joseph’s College, Trichy affiliated to Bharathidasan University, PGDCA from Alagappa University, Karaikudi and Ph.D from Loyola College, Chennai affiliated to University of Madras.

During his Ph.D, he worked in the topic “Minimum Metric Dimension of Certain Architectures” (Graph Theory).He received Special Award namely “REV. FR. RACINE AWARD” from Loyola College, Chennai for the Academic year 2007-2008 for the Best Research Student in the Department of Mathematics.

He visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to present a paper titled “Minimum Metric Dimension of Oriented Butterfly Network”, in the 5th Asian Mathematical Conference (AMC 2009) during June 22-26, 2009 and he also visited Kuwait to present a paper titled “Metric Dimension of Mesh Connected Trees” in the International Conference on Computing Sciences and Engineering (ICCSE 2015) during March 15-17, 2015.  

He has qualified the State Level Educational Testing (SLET) for Lectureship held in May 2000, conducted by Bharathidasan University; Tiruchirappalli (Accredited by U.G.C).He received the Best Teacher Award from the College three times.

He has published over 12 research publications in refereed international journals and in proceedings of international conferences.He participated and attended various workshops and conferences. He also coordinated various programmesalong with his department.

He is a recognized supervisor of Anna University, Chennai and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
