Dr. Sunita Nair
Dr. Sunita Nair M.Sc., Ph.D
Dr. Sunita Nair is an Professor in the Department of Chemistry. She had her M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University Teaching Department (Chemistry), Ravishankar University, Raipur (Madhya Pradesh – now Chattisgarh). She was awarded National Scholarship for doing M.Sc. She secured Gold Medal (First Rank) for securing first rank in University Examination. Her Ph.D. was in the area of Environmental Chemistry. She published and presented 25 research papers in National and International journals and conferences.
She also received the Panduranga Rao Award for the Best Paper in Analytical Chemistry in the Convention of Chemists held at Cuttack in 1983. Her current research interest is in the area of Monitoring Pollutants in Air and Water.
Dr. Nair has been with SSN College of Engineering (SSNCE) right from its inception in 1996. Before joining SSNCE, she held Post-Doctoral positions (under CSIR, New Delhi) at GoaUniversity, and also involved in teaching Chemistry for M.Sc. at GoaUniversity. She was a Visiting Faculty at Environmental Pollution Control and Safety Training Institute at Panaji (Goa).
Dr. Nair has 27 years of Teaching and Research experience. She received the Best Teacher Award from the College eight times. She has been recognized as supervisor for guiding Ph.D scholar by the Center for Research, Anna University and also a member of the Board of Studies in the faculty of Science and Humanities of Anna University, Chennai (2009).
Apart from teaching at the college, Dr. Nair is also the Advisor Student Affairs of SSN Institutions, and one of the editors of the Quarterly News Letter “Vibrations” of the Institute.
