Dr. V. Mahesh  B.E., M.Tech , PhD., PGP (Machine Learning).

 

 

 

Dr. Mahesh is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, SSN College of Engineering. He has done B.E. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Annamalai University, M.Tech (Biomedical Engineering) from M.I.T. Manipal and PhD from Anna University, In 2019 Dr. Mahesh completed the Post Graduate Program in Machine Learning from Great Learning. He is currently undergoing Post Graduate Program in Deep Learning from Great Learning. Before joining SSN he was with University of Cape Town, Republic of South Africa, there he was working as Post-Doctoral Fellow.  

Research:

Dr. Mahesh is a recognized supervisor (Old / New Reco. No. : 14.499.12 / 1440173) of Anna University for guiding PhD and M.S. ( by research) under the faculty of Information and Communication Engineering. He has guided 3 scholars towards their Ph.D. degree and currently guiding 1 scholar towards his Ph.D. His research interest are Brain cognition, Bio signal Processing , Bioinstrumentation,  Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Networks. Etc..

 Awards and Recognitions: 

  1. A team of students ( Mr. Arvind, Ms. Kavya, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Ananya, Ms. Vaishali and Mr. Jagadesh) guided by Dr. Mahesh won first prize in Smart India Hackathon (Hardware Edition, July 2019), at Jaipur. Title of the project: Automatic weight measurement for the bedridden patients.
  2. Texas Instruments Arun Srinivas P, Deepak N, Ganesh Kumar K, Navathej G have won consolation prize of INR 10,000 for their project titled ‘Design of a Switch Controller for Paralytic Patients using EEG’ in Texas Instruments Analog Design Contest 2012-13 under the guidance of Mrs. B.Geethanjali and Dr. V. Mahesh held on April 4th their project was listed among the top 40 projects in all over India.
  3. Guided two students ( Mr. Gopalakrishnan and Mr. Aswin) who won an International Project Competition organized by Schneider company in 2011.
  4. Consultancy work was done for National Instruments developed Work Bench for Biomedical and Medical Image Processing during the year of 2009 and 2010 with the funding of one lakhs from Industry
